‘Panorama' magazine interviews Angel Casellas

Just 2 months ago ‘Panorama’, the magazine for professionals in the camping sector, published an interview with Angel Casellas, CEO and co-founder of Uplaan, about the future of camping in Spain and how it is closely linked to the digitalisation of the sector.

You can read the full interview on the magazine's own web space ‘Panorama’ or on our LinkedIn space, where we have re-uploaded it.

Angel Casellas, CEO Uplaan

Angel Casellas explained why campsites will have to undergo a necessary digitalisation process in order to consolidate their position as the holiday option of choice for millions of visitors, both local and foreign.

The increase in the cost of international flights, the rise in the price of hotel rooms and what we could classify as ‘classic tourism’ in general has coincided with the proliferation of campsites, many of which were already betting on the ‘Glamping’ model. A model similar to that of any large hotel or resort, cheaper than the latter and with which many new visitors have felt comfortable.

The transfer of visitors has occurred naturally... and en masse. That is why more campsites have opened. Existing campsites have expanded and absorbed smaller campsites to accommodate the influx of visitors. It is a good time for those who make a living from camping, probably the best ever. But not all of them will prosper.

According to Angel Casellas, only those that can offer a solid customer experience, with which the guest feels as comfortable (or even more so) as they have been in a hotel until now, will do so. This optimal customer experience can only be achieved with a well-equipped campsite, with well-defined operations and with the catalogue of products, services, events and activities offered by the campsite arranged in a customer-friendly way.

In the interview, the CEO and co-founder of this company explains how we have decided to face these challenges from Uplaan and some of the results of our first season working with the most important campsites in the country. You can't miss it!
